BRIEFS
Cluster Lifecycle Management

Over the past year, HPCwire newsletter has run a series of columns by X-ISS President Deepak Khosla on Cluster Lifecycle Management. The full series is now available on our website.

Congrats

Congratulations to B. Weisman winner of the JBP Bluetooth Speaker drawing at the 2015 ANSYS Convergence Conference. Thanks to all who stopped by the X-ISS booth.

Visit Us at SC15

Booth #162 will be a busy place at SC15 in Austin next week. We'll be making a new announcement about expansion of our ManagedHPC® services to Europe, discussing our recently introduced CloudHPC consulting services, and talking up the latest upgrades in DecisionHPC®. Be sure to stop by our booth more than once because we'll have different members of our team there throughout the week. You can expect to see Deepak Khosla, Sean FitzGerald, Darryl Chatman, and Keith Myers. Exhibits are open Nov. 16-19. More details at x-iss.com/x-iss-at-sc15.

Follow Us on Twitter at SC15

Be sure to follow us at @XISS_HPC. Throughout the conference, we'll be Tweeting the latest news from X-ISS as well as commentary from the show floor. The two official conference hashtags - #HPCmatters and #HPCtransforms - are sure to be insightful next week.

Meet Keith Myers

We are pleased to announce that X-ISS is continuing to grow, most recently with the addition of Keith Myers. As our new Senior Account Manager, Keith will be supporting many existing X-ISS customers while working to expand our client base and find new business partnership opportunities. A graduate of Texas A&M, Keith recently worked in the non-profit sector focusing on multi-million-dollar development campaigns. Make sure to say “Hi” to Keith at SC15; he should be in the booth all week.

Keep Following Our Blog

Over the past several months, we've been blogging about the results of our HPC ‘Pain Points’ survey. The final post in this series discusses the results to two questions. The first relates to remote access and collaboration for HPC applications. The second asks for comments on reporting on job/application/project performance across multiple clusters. Your answers surprised us. As always, analysis of the survey responses makes for interesting reading because your answers offer insights into how your experiences stack up against your colleagues around the industry. Read it here.

Win a Prize at SC15

Once again this year, X-ISS will be conducting a survey on hot topics at the SC15 conference. Completing the survey should take just three minutes and it might just win you a prize. After finishing the survey in booth #162, your name will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a RC Quadcopter Drone with HD Camera or an Amazon Echo.

Teamwork Key to On-Time Deployment

At X-ISS, we take great pride in the HPC expertise of our personnel. But in a recent cluster deployment for an auto maker, it was HPC know-how combined with smart teamwork that enabled us to get the 1,400-node cluster up and running before the tight deadline. Read the whole story here.

SLURM & GPFS Support in DecisionHPC

We are excited to announce the addition of SLURM scheduler support and GPFS parallel filesystem metrics to DecisionHPC. These will be available for customer deployment in version 15.2 due for release at the end of this year. Stay tuned for further details.
